As I'm sure many of you have discovered with my 'about me' picture, I'm happily married to the love of my life and we both just happens to have a vagina. We have gone through a miscarriage, selecting sperm, the process of IUI to get pregnant, we have been through 2 births together (our daughter and a surrogacy baby) and so many more things as a same sex couple. Thankfully our journey has mostly been met with support and love from all of our medical team and family. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many people of LGBTQIA+ population. Roots to Roses will always support everyone of any race, religion, gender or identity. It's important to me that people feel as loved and supported in every phase in life, including the journey to parenthood, as I have been.
Being in a same-sex relationship has given me a unique perspective going through not only my day to day but also becoming a mom and being part of my wife's surrogacy journey. I would love the opportunity to support other people the same way.
can be daunting to take the next steps to bring a baby into the world, especially if you are unsure of how people will react to your journey. My goal in becoming your doula is to support you and your partner the way that I would want to be supported.
Finding a care team that supports and acknowledges you, your support person(s) and your decisions as parents is the best way to ensure that you are empowered. Using preferred pronouns, making your partner feel empowered as the main support person, encouraging and building confidence in one of the toughest and arguably most beautiful life events. These ideas and more, are the ultimate goal in my individualized support to help you feel comfortable and empowered to open the door to parenthood.
Congrats we love you girls ❤️❤️❤️❤️
